EVEN Hotels – the wellness brand from IHG – could launch in the UK

EVEN Hotels, the new wellness brand from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) which is set to launch in the USA next year, is likely to come to the UK.

"I can see a time when we will launch here, it is simply a matter of when," he explained during an IHG media event at the InterContinental Westminster. "It often takes five to 10 years for a brand to become established and gain the momentum to expand."

In particular, Solomons highlighted the fact that it took eight years for Staybridge Suites (IHG's extended stay brand) to be introduced into the UK in 2005, following its opening in the USA.

The launch of EVEN Hotels was announced in February 2012 and the brand's first property is due to open during the first quarter of 2014 in Rockville, Maryland, followed by a second in Norwalk, Connecticut. Both hotels are company owned, but are expected to be eventually sold to fit in with IHG's asset light strategy.

The average size of an EVEN Hotel is expected to be between 100 and 220 bedrooms.
