The five-AA-star, 209-bedroom Fairmont St Andrews hotel has appointed Stewart Elder as director of banqueting and events.
Elder, who has worked at the hotel since 2009, previously held the position of director of group sales. In his new role he will oversee the day-to-day running of the conference and banqueting operation and be responsible for the banqueting and events team.
John Keating, Fairmont St Andrews general manager, said: "Stewart has been an integral part of the team at Fairmont St Andrews for the past six years, and his experience in event management and social strengths will be hugely beneficial to everyone. It's an extremely positive start to the new year and we're looking forward to developing our banqueting and events offering with Stewart and the team throughout the coming months."
Elder added: "I'm delighted to be leading the banqueting and events team at Fairmont St Andrews. We have an immensely talented and enthusiastic team on board and one I'm very much looking forward to working with and continuing to build our reputation as Scotland's finest luxury resort."
