Fairview Hotels buys Holiday Inn, Cardiff North

Fairview Hotels has bought the Holiday Inn, Cardiff North, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition of the 95-bedroom hotel just off junction 32 of the M4 takes Fairview's portfolio of hotels to 13, offering approximately 1,400 rooms between them.

To support the company's growing portfolio, the operational team has moved into a new headquarters at Fairview House in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, while the group HQ remains at Kanta House in South Ruislip, west London.

It has also invested in a refurbishment of Novotel Coventry, and the refurbishment of all public areas at Novotel Wolverhampton and Novotel Manchester West. Refurbishments are also being carried out at Ibis Rugby and Novotel Ipswich, while more work at other sites is planned for 2019.

The deal for the Holiday Inn, Cardiff North was brokered by Christie & Co. DWF and Knight Frank acted as advisors.

Commenting on the acquisition, Neil Forbes, director of hotels at Fairview, said: "We are very excited to have joined the IHG network and become a multi-brand operator."
