Fera at Claridge's set to close on New Year's Eve

Fera at Claridge's in London's Mayfair is set to close after a four and a half year run at the iconic hotel, a spokesman has confirmed. The restaurant's last dinner service will run on New Year's Eve.

The restaurant was established by Simon Rogan in May 2014 on a 10-year management agreement, with a five-year break clause. However in 2017 Rogan formally left the site, which has since been overseen by head chef Matt Starling.

In July, Paul Jackson, general manager of the five-red-AA-starred, 197-bedroom hotel, said the departure of Rogan had made little difference to the operation of Fera, with the majority of the team remaining the same.

"Fera is still successful. However, food and beverage is a little softer in London this year than we've seen in previous years."

It is unclear who will now take on the space, which was previously occupied by Gordon Ramsay for 12 years.

A Maybourne Hotel Group spokeswoman confirmed the company will "be making a further announcement in the new year" regarding a replacement for Fera.
