Fine Individual Hotels to double in size

Fine Individual Hotels (FIH), a group of independent hotels across the UK, is planning to double its number of members from 50 to 100.

It has also relaunched its website this week to offer members incentives and help drive growth of the group.

FIH is described by Mike Bevans, the owner of the three-red-AA-star, 30-bedroom Linthwaite House Hotel in Windermere, Cumbria, and founder of the group in 1994, as "a collection of some of the very best privately owned and operated luxury hotels in the UK."

Other member hotels include Northcote Manor in Umberleigh, Devon; Hedlam Hall in Darlington and Knockinaam Lodge in Portpatrick.

"Fine Individual Hotels is an initiative that has been designed by hoteliers for hoteliers who all wish to work together with the simple aim of providing quality accommodation and hospitality and to cross market their properties to one another," said Bevans. "This unique approach enables them to reach thousands of potential clients staying in high quality hotels and is a targeted and cost effective way of advertising."

All marketing is carried out through the website and a compact free brochure that is available for every guest at each hotel. There is no head office.

Hotels are personally invited to join the guide and website to ensure that it remains as exclusive as possible. To qualify they will generally have an AA score of 75% or higher and most will have one or two rosettes for their food.

Key features of the new website include promotional opportunities for special offers, real-time graphical statistics on referrals and user reviews to increase trust and referrals.

To join, hotels pay an annual flat fee of £1,195 and an additional sliding scale of fees depending on the package of activity each hotel wishes to take. The website can be found at www.fihotels.com
