Fire at Legoland hotel under investigation

A hotel at Legoland Resort in Windsor has closed while a fire that broke out yesterday afternoon is under investigation.

All guests and staff were evacuated safely and guests are being refunded or offered alternative accommodation. The theme park remains open for business as usual.

A spokesperson for the resort said the "small fire", which broke out at 3.35pm yesterday, was "isolated to the front exterior of the hotel only".

They said: "Our well-rehearsed emergency procedures were immediately implemented and the emergency services were called and attended the site… The health and safety of our guests is our top priority and the hotel is currently closed whilst the fire brigade's investigation takes place."

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was in the canopy on the outside of the building.
