First-time buyers for Lancashire guesthouse

First-time hotel buyers Shaun and Amanda Brelsford have bought the Brook House hotel in the Lancashire village of Clayton Le Woods.

The two-star, two-storey property was built as a farm house in the early 19th century and was first converted into a guesthouse in 1985.

It occupies half an acre of ground in the village, which is three miles north of Chorley and five miles south of Preston.

Facilities include 20 en-suite bedrooms, a 40-seat lounge bar, and a 24-seat dining room. The property has lawns to the front and side and parking for up to 36 cars.

The new owners plan to extend the letting accommodation and raise the guesthouse's rating to three stars.

The Manchester office of Christie +Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £795,000 on behalf of the Greenwoods from Alicante.
