First Zip by Premier Inn opens in Cardiff
The world's first Zip by Premier Inn opened today in Cardiff, featuring small rooms starting at £19 a night.
The new brand, designed by PriestmanGoode, features a large communal area offering breakfast in the mornings and transforming into a work space and bar with a big screen TV and table football in the evenings.
Rooms, which measure 8.5 sq m, feature Hypnos bed that can be configured as two singles or a double, en suites with power showers and 24-inch smart TV.
Premier Inn parent company Whitbread has announced plans to add a further 36,000 rooms to its UK portfolio, focusing on its hotel business following the sale of Costa Coffee to Coca-Cola for £3.9b last year.
