Floating hotel the Oliver Cromwell Paddle Wheeler for sale
A floating hotel has been put on the market, offering potential buyers a unique business opportunity as a hotel, restaurant, bar or events venue.
The Oliver Cromwell Paddle Wheeler, currently moored in West Quay at Gloucester Docks, was built from a Dutch freight barge in the early 1990s when it was launched as the highest-capacity cruising hotel boat in the UK.
It features an outdoor deck that can accommodate up to 50 people; an upper deck restaurant area with space to provide seating for up to 80 people, including a dance floor, stage and bar; a mid-deck which offers 14 en suite twin-bed cabins and a lounge area overlooking the paddle wheel; and a four-section lower deck with eight double en suite cabins as well as cabins for crew and offices.
The Oliver Cromwell Paddle Wheeler can be towed at sea to other ports in the UK or motor under its own power on the Severn Navigation.
Jonathan Hill, director of Christie & Co in Bristol, said: "The Oliver Cromwell Paddle Wheeler is one of those once-in-a-blue-moon business opportunities. Not only does it benefit from its unique environment and positioning, but it presents the potential investor with a variety of business or residential uses."
