Former owners of Dial House hotel to open Society Café in Bath
The former owners of the Dial House hotel in the Cotswolds are set to open a new coffee shop in Bath later this month as the first of a planned chain.
Adrian and Jane Campbell-Howard will open the first Society Café on Kingsmead Square on 26 March. They plan to open a second site in Bath next year as well as two sites in Bristol in 2014.
Housed in a Georgian property. the 100sq m site will be spread over two floors comprising a coffee shop complete with a range of different seating options offering a range of different coffees, juices and cold food, including pastries and home-made sandwiches.
Interiors will have a modern feel including banquettes, high chairs and sofas and the venue will also showcase artworks and photography.
"We called it Society because we want it to be a sort of urban community living room where everyone is welcome," said Adrian Campbell-Howard.
"We wanted to have a big site and create a modern space where people feel comfortable and want to hang out."
Society Café will be open seven days a week, from 7am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 9am on Sundays.
The Campbell-Howards ran the Dial House hotel in Bourton on the Water from 2000 to 2008 before relocating to Marrakech in Morocco where they managed Riad El Fenn for 18 months.
