Former Punch Taverns chief executive Ian Dyson made non-executive director at IHG

InterContinental Hotels Group has announced that former Punch Taverns chief executive Ian Dyson is to be appointed as a non-executive director.

Dyson is currently a non-executive director of Punch Taverns and the Audit Committee of Betfair Group and will be made senior independent and non-executive director at online clothing retailer ASOS in October. His previous roles have included group finance and operations director for Marks and Spencer, chief executive of Punch Taverns and financial controller and finance director for the hotels division of the Hilton Group .

He will join the IHG board on 1 September and serve as a member of the audit remuneration and nomination committees.

Patrick Cescau, IHG's non-executive chairman, said: "I look forward to welcoming Ian to the IHG board. His understanding of the hotel sector and his wealth of experience in senior executive and finance roles will be of great value to the group."
