Franklin and Egerton House hotels go on the market

Two independent London hotels, the Franklin and the Egerton House in Knightsbridge, are up for sale, Caterer has learnt.

A third property, the Dukes hotel, also owned by the Franklin Hotel Investment Group, is also rumoured to be on the market.

Directors David Naylor-Leyland and Alistair Haddon-Payton would not comment on the price tags for the 30-bedroom Egerton House and 47-bedroom Franklin.

While they admitted the Dukes hotel had been on the market last year, they denied it was up for sale now, despite rumours which claimed the property had recently been sold for about £35m.

Property agent Jones Lang LaSalle is handling the sale but declined to comment.
