FSA launches online forum

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is launching an online forum to help catering businesses meet EU hygiene regulations.

The forum will be piloted from today (2 May) for several weeks and aims to encourage the sharing of best practice across the industry. It will also provide a platform for caterers to share their experiences and learn from others in the industry.

It follows the launch in September 2005 of the FSA's safer food, better business (SFBB) pack designed to document food safety management procedures in catering companies.

Stephen Airey, head of the FSA's food safety management policy branch said: "The FSA is committed to supporting the catering industry and we hope the forum will provide the opportunity for us to further develop SFBB and also encourage those in the industry to share their knowledge".

The forum is available at www.food.gov.uk/sfbbforum and is part of the "Digital Dialogues" project run by the Hansard society on behalf of the Department of Constitutional affairs.
