Future Inns appoints Andrew Silver as commercial director

Future Inns has appointed Andrew Silver as its new commercial director. Silver will take responsibility for driving business at Future Inns' three hotels in Bristol, Cardiff and Plymouth, as well as providing the business with a platform for future growth, as the brand plans to expand throughout the UK.

Silver was previously managing director of Golden Tulip UK, where he helped to oversee the UK expansion of the Golden Tulip and Tulip Inn brands and the subsequent buyout by Premier Inn owner Whitbread in 2007. Before joining Golden Tulip, Silver was director of sales and marketing at the Virgin Hotel Collection and also group commercial sales manager at Swallow Hotels.

Future Inns, which opened its first UK hotel in Cardiff Bay in 2005, plans to expand throughout the UK over the next five years.

Silver said: "This is an exciting time to be joining the company. There are significant opportunities to maximise both revenue and profitability at the existing hotels and work has already started by introducing a new pricing strategy and changes in the way we run our hotels. All the work we are doing now will drive the performance of our existing hotels whilst creating the platform for growth."
