Gavin Williams appointed GM of two inns in Devonshire Hotel and Restaurant Group
The Devonshire Hotel and Restaurant Group has appointed former army corporal Gavin Williams as general manager of its two historic inns on the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire.
Williams will oversee the running of the 14-bedroom Devonshire Arms at Beeley and the 13-bedroom Devonshire Arms at Pilsley. He joins the group from Old English Inns, during which time he manged the Red Lion at Todwick, near Sheffield, having previously spent a decade with the Whitbread Group.
Earlier in his career, Williams was an army corporal, serving as a royal signals operator. He is currently studying for a masters in business management administration degree at the University of Derby.
Simon Rhatigan, managing director of the Devonshire Hotel and Restaurant Group, said: "Gavin is ideally suited to manage these inns, his passion for the business and excellence in man management skills equip him well but more than anything our guests and local regulars will warm to his friendly, yet professional manner. We are delighted to have Gavin as part of our management team."
Sister properties to the two inns include the four-red-AA-star, 40-bedroom Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, in Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire; and the 14-bedroom Devonshire Fell at Burnsall, North Yorkshire.
