Gordon Ramsay restaurant promoted to two Michelin stars

Gordon Ramsay has won a second Michelin star for his restaurant at the Intercontinental Bordeaux - Le Grand Hotel in France, just 17 months after it opened.

Le Pressoir d'Argent, a fine-dining restaurant, on the first floor of the hotel pays homage to the local produce and wines from the Bordeaux region as well as produce from the British Isles.

Commenting on the news, Ramsay said: "I am so proud of the incredible team in Bordeaux, to win our second star after just 17 months, after gaining our first star in our first few months, is truly an honour and a testament to the loyalty and dedication of the team and chef de cuisine, Gilad Peled.

"France is home to some of the best produce and wines in the world, but also championing produce from the British Isles such as Venison from the Scottish countryside and sparkling wines from Kent, is what has made this restaurant exceptional. A big bravo to the team at Intercontinental Bordeaux - I'm very excited for the year ahead."

Israeli chef Gilad Peled started working for Ramsay in London eight years ago at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

Ramsay has 31 restaurants around the world and now holds seven Michelin stars, including three at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, one at Petrus in London, and one at Gordon Ramsay au Trianon in Paris.
