Hampshire buyers for Perthshire glen hotel

A Hampshire couple are to make their debut as hoteliers with the purchase of the Glenisla hotel, a former coaching and drovers' inn nestled in one of the Angus glens in the foothills of the Cairngorms.

Brian and Zelda Franklin-Hills bought the Perthshire country hotel from Richard and Elspeth Munro, who plan to buy another hotel in the west of Scotland.

The hotel, often referred to as ‘The Inn in the Glen', is located in the Kirkton of Glenisla in Blairgowrie.

It provides six self-catering, cottage-style bedrooms; a low-ceilinged, timber-beamed lounge bar; a residents' lounge; a 24-seat restaurant;and a function room for up to 100 people.

There is also a spacious three-bedroom flat for the owners that has been converted from adjoining stables/outbuildings.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the hotel for in excess of the £395,000 asking price.
