Hand Picked Hotels appoints new general manager at Seiont Manor hotel in Snowdonia
Dylan Hughes has taken over as general manager of the three-red-AA-star, 28-bedroom Seoint Manor hotel in Snowdonia, North Wales, which Hand Picked Hotels put on the market three months ago for £2m.
The appointment makes a return to Seiont Manor for Hughes who started his career at the hotel nearly 15 years ago.He later went on to work at New Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield, as conference and banqueting manager before a stint as general manager at Hotel Portmeirion, north-west Wales.
Hughes said that Seiont Manor hotel was like a home-coming. "The hotel is well known throughout north Wales and contributes greatly to the local community and I am delighted to be a part of this once more," he said. "In my role I look forward to help building the profile of Seiont Manor Hotel regionally and nationally."
Julia Hands, chairman and chief executive of Hand Picked Hotels, said : "We are delighted to welcome Dylan back, with his invaluable knowledge and experience at the hotel and the region as a tourist destination."
On announcing in July that Hand Picked Hotels would be selling Seiont Manor, Hands described the hotel as "a very characterful property in a beautiful part of Wales". However, she added that the hotel does not fit in with the group's strategy as a four-AA-star hotel collection.
Hand Picked Hotels, which currently comprises 21 hotels, is also selling the 42-bedroom Priest House hotel in Castle Donnington, Derbyshire, for £3.25m.
