Hasting Hotels sees 1.4% increase in turnover
Hastings Hotels Group saw its annual turnover increase 1.4% to £32.5m for the 12 months to 31 October 2014.
The directors said in their report in the company's 2014 accounts that they were satisfied with the progress made in what it described as a difficult trading environment throughout the year.
According to the report, the company has invested in employment training and development as well as introducing appropriate incentive and career progression arrangements in order to retain key staff.
Hastings Hotels runs six hotels in Northern Ireland, including the Stormont hotel and the Europa hotel in Belfast. In May this year the company purchased Windsor House in Belfast's Bedford Street for £6.5m to convert it into a hotel. The construction of Windsor House was completed in 1974 and is one of the tallest buildings in Ireland.
The new hotel is expected to create 150 hospitality jobs when it opens and Hastings Hotels said it hoped it would help to meet demand from both business and leisure customers in the city.
In the annual accounts, Hastings said it had 1,114 employees during 2014.
