Head of operations announced for rapidly expanding Harbour Hotels
Simon Maguire has been appointed as head of operations to help steer Harbour Hotels as it undertakes a period of rapid expansion.
He joins the 13-strong group, which has recently opened properties in Chichester, Guildford and Brighton and is set to launch hotels in Bristol, Southampton and Salcombe over the next 18 months.
The role of head of operations is a new one for Harbour Hotels, which is headed by Mike Warren as managing director.
After starting his career with Firmdale Hotels, Maguire has gone on to hold general manager positions at the Atlantic hotel in Jersey, two Hotel du Vin properties in Tunbridge Wells and Brighton and the Kensington hotel in London.
Maguire said he was "delighted" to join Harbour Hotels at such an exciting stage in its development. "With an expanding portfolio of award-winning hotels and a great reputation for delivering high product and service standards, I am eager to further drive the group's overall customer experience and continue to deliver exceptional brand continuity."
The Brighton Harbour hotel is the latest property within the group to welcome guests, following a conversion of a seafront building which was previously occupied by the Umi hotel. Following the launch of the brand's Jetty restaurant and HarBar earlier this month, the 79 bedrooms will open in August. A spa and rooftop infinity pool will follow in 2017.
