Hilton to sell Australian health clubs?

Hilton has confirmed it is considering an unsolicited offer for its Australian health and fitness clubs, but denied rumours it was looking to sell the entire 120-strong LivingWell chain.

LivingWell has 86 UK fitness clubs, and the entire chain is valued at £80m.

Clerkenwell Ventures, set up last year by the directors of Clapham House Group, has been named as a potential suitor.

Clerkenwell co-founder Paul Campbell declined to comment on the Hilton rumours but agreed LivingWell's top-end market position and contract-based element made it the sort of business the company would be interested in.

Clerkenwell is currently in talks for a hotel purchase.
