Hilton wins Wolseley management contract
Hilton is looking for a further three Irish properties, after winning the management contract at the Mount Wolseley hotel resort in County Carlow.
Area president of Hilton UK and Ireland, Wolfgang Neumann, said: "Hilton is looking at numerous opportunities to further grow in Ireland, with an aim to have three new properties in the region by 2008."
At least one of these new hotels will be in Cork, and is scheduled to open later this year.
Businessman Donal Morrissey, originally opened the four-star 143-bedroom Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Country club in 1996. It underwent a €22m (£14.9m) extension in 2004 with a further €5m (£3.4m) spent since on a spa.
The Morrissey family retain ownership of the resort under the terms of the deal.
