Successful applicants will be granted Master Innholder status and will join an elite group of industry leaders who meet regularly to discuss and promote standards in hotel management.
Among some 120 current incumbents are proprietors of boutique hotels, and chief executives and managing directors of hotel groups. These include industry luminaries such as David Morgan-Hewitt, managing director of the Goring, Claire Randall, managing director of Lucknam Park, Mark Chambers, managing director of Eden Hotel Collection, Patrick Burke, owner and managing director of the Atlantic Hotel, Jersey, and Danny Pecorelli, managing director of Exclusive Hotels and Venues and 2014 Hotelier of the Year.
In 2015, eight new hoteliers were accepted to the group, among them Justin Pinchbeck, general manager of the Berkeley. "This will give me the opportunity to learn further from the industry elite and support aspiring scholars who are the future of our industry," he said.
Master Innholders contributes to the work of industry organisations, particularly in the area of training and education initiatives. The group has also developed the General Managers' Conference, which is attended by 400-500 people annually.
