Best Western remained the UK's largest hotel marketing consortium in 2009, counting more than 285 member hotels with a combined 15,305-plus bedrooms.

The 140-strong Independents Hotel Association retained its grip on the second place thanks to a total tally of 9,000 bedrooms while Classic Britain's 8,500 bedrooms across 170 hotels put it in third place.

These facts and figures are reported in British Hospitality: Trends and Statistics 2009, published by the British Hospitality Association.
