How can I get a job in London?

Question

I have five years' experience at management level and am looking for a position in London. However, there appears to be a catch-22 situation within the London market in regard to previous experience. Any advice?

Lesley Reynolds, chief executive, Portfolio International: I do find this London pretension very frustrating, and I know it is a real issue, however, thankfully it is not prevalent everywhere. My advice would be to stick at it. If you really want London, you will find it. Have you considered contract catering as well as hotels? Do not give in, you will find what you want if you carry on.
