Huge fire breaks out in Dubai hotel

A huge fire has broken out at the five-star Address Downtown hotel in Dubai, as New Year's Eve celebrations got under way.

At this stage it is not clear what started the fire in the hotel, which is near the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest skyscraper, or whether there have been any casualties.

According to the BBC, the fire has appeared to have engulfed much of the building, which is 63 storeys high. The Dubai government tweeted that the fire had started on the 20th floor.
