IHG appoints Kimpton Europe brand director

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Jacque Riley as brand director of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants Europe.

IHG acquired the US boutique hotel brand last year for £275m and announced in January that it would introduce it to Europe in 2017 with the conversion of the 270-bedroom Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre.

Riley is the first Kimpton employee to move to a role within the IHG team. She joined Kimpton three years ago, starting as director of restaurants PR, Washington DC and Virginia, then acting as director of communications for east USA in Washington DC. Prior to joining Kimpton she owned her own PR company in South Carolina.

In her new position, she will report directly to Tom Rowntree, VP brand management of IHG's luxury and boutique brands in Europe.

Riley said: "I am incredibly passionate about the Kimpton brand and am excited to join the Europe team at a pivotal time as we prepare to introduce Kimpton to our guests."

Rowntree added: "Jacque's appointment is key to delivering the launch of the brand across the region and supporting our wider business strategy. Our focus is to maintain all that makes the Kimpton brand special and loved, whilst bringing the brand to life in new markets, languages and cultures; Jacque, with her depth of experience, is the perfect person to help deliver this."
