IHG signs Hotel Indigo London – Aldgate

The hotel, situated in Aldgate Place, will be set in the heart of a major residential and commercial development project taking shape along Leman Street and Aldgate East.

Anna Corkill, development director, UK & Ireland, IHG said: "Together with Meadow Partners and Roquebrook we're proud to be bringing the first Hotel Indigo hotel to east London. London is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world and is therefore a key global city for everyone. "With so many unique neighbourhoods, it is the perfect location for the brand and this latest signing is very much in line with our growth plans for the city."

Simon Blakeborough, Director of Roquebrook said: "This area is so alive and is a melting pot of cultures, cuisines art and architecture, making it the perfect neighbourhood for a Hotel Indigo hotel.

"It really is a fantastic place to visit whether you are travelling for business or leisure. This is our second Hotel Indigo hotel that we're developing in the UK and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnership with IHG."

Last year the Hotel Indigo brand celebrated its 10th anniversary with the opening of its 60th hotel globally - Hotel Indigo Paris Opera.

There are currently 19 Hotel Indigo properties in Europe and a further 11 in the pipeline. Of those, nine Hotel Indigo properties are open in the UK and a further eight are in the pipeline in addition to the Aldgate hotel.
