IHG signs Hotel Indigo London – Clerkenwell

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with Omenport Developments to open its Hotel Indigo brand in London's Clerkenwell.

The 151-bedroom hotel will be the fifth Hotel Indigo in London and is expected to open in early 2021. The listed Hat & Feathers pub on the site on Clerkenwell Road will be incorporated into the hotel, with two modern wings to be added. When it opens, the hotel will also feature a restaurant and five meeting rooms.

Established in 2004, Hotel Indigo is IHG's upscale boutique brand and has over 100 hotels across more than 15 countries. The brand is set to double its portfolio presence over the next three to five years.

Heather Seckington, owner and director, Omenport Developments, said: "We're proud to be partnering with a leading hospitality company such as IHG. We value IHG's systems and expertise and we're confident the strength of the Hotel Indigo brand will make this hotel a success."

IHG has 349 hotels operating under eight brands in the UK, including 15 Hotel Indigos, with a further 26 hotels in the pipeline, seven of which are Hotel Indigos. IHG opened its Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon earlier this year and is due to open Hotel Indigo Bath and Hotel Indigo Chester later in 2019.
