Intent media acquires hotel personalisation platform Voyat

Intent Media has acquired Voyat, a personalisation and conversion platform for hoteliers.

The online advertising technology specialist said the two companies shared the same mission: "to help travel brands use data science to increase revenue-per-search and provide better user experience".

Voyat was founded in 2012 by chief executive Benjamin Habbel, formerly chief of staff for Marissa Mayer at Google; and chief technology officer Bob Lund, formerly chief technology officer at Gekko.

It provides a method of connecting brands to customers online and post-stay to "dramatically increase conversions on hotel websites".

Intent chief executive Richard Harris said in an email to existing customers: "You will continue to receive the same quality of service you've come to expect from us, with the same point of contact. We remain committed to you, and your goals."

Intent Media has raised $50 million in venture capital backing since being founded by former executives of OTA Travelocity.
