Islay's Harbour Inn bought by local whisky distillers

The recently refurbished harbour-side property, which enjoys views across Loch Indaal towards Jura, is the latest addition to the Bowmore family business which includes the Bowmore Visitor Centre and Distillery and luxury self-catering cottages.

Anne Kinnes, operations and development manager of the visitor centre, said: "In growing the Bowmore business to include the Harbour Inn, this is a very exciting time for us. We are looking forward to the opportunity of welcoming guests to experience our world class service on Islay."

Founded in 1779, Bowmore is the oldest distillery on Islay, the southern most island of the Inner Hebrides. Bowmore single malt whisky is well known for its distinct smokiness and rich peaty flavour.
