Jacqui McMillan appointed GM of Novotel London Canary Wharf
AccorHotels has appointed Jacqui McMillan general manager of its global flagship Novotel in London's Canary Wharf.
In her new role she will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the 313-bedroom hotel, the tallest Novotel in the world which represented a £90m investment from the group.
She takes over from Philip Logan, who managed the pre-launch and opening of the hotel last year and has joined the group's Asia Pacific luxury division as general manager of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth in Australia.
McMillan was most recently general manager of Novotel London Blackfriars. She began her career with AccorHotels as a rooms division manager at Novotel Glasgow and has also held general manager positions at Ibis Glasgow City Centre, Novotel Bristol Centre and Novotel Reading Centre, and managed the opening of Novotel London Brentford in 2014.
Thomas Dubaere, chief operating officer of AccorHotels UK & Ireland, said: "Jacqui has shown passion and commitment in every role she has undertaken during her career here at AccorHotels. Developing and retaining talented individuals is not only crucial to our success as a business but to the industry as a whole. The time is now right to turn her talents to an exciting role at our newest Novotel in Canary Wharf and I have every confidence that she will continue to be a great asset. We also wish Philip the very best as he returns to his homeland whilst staying in the AccorHotels family."
AccorHotels has 36 Novotel properties in the UK out of nearly 240 managed and franchised properties in the UK in total, with more than 4,300 hotels, resorts and residences worldwide.
