James Gardiner appointed general manager of Crowne Plaza Reading

James Gardiner has been appointed general manager of the 122-bedroom Crowne Plaza Reading hotel.

The hotel is operated by hotel management company RBH and marks a return to RBH for Gardiner, who was previously food and beverage manager and later hotel manager at the Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum, which was part of the RBH portfolio at the time. His most recent role was general manager at the Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport.

As part of his new role he will lead operations at the hotel, which boasts a health club, spa, restaurant, bar and lounge as well as six conference and meeting rooms. He replaces previous general manager David Willmott.

Gardiner said: "It's great to be back at a hotel under RBH's management and to be taking on my new role at this picturesque venue on the bank of the River Thames. I try to be a highly motivational manager and my focus will be to lead my team in continuing to deliver outstanding service for all our guests and visitors."
