Jeremy Hopkins appointed general manager of London's Athenaeum hotel
London's five-star, 164-bedroom Athenaeum hotel has appointed Jeremy Hopkins as general manager.
Hopkins was previously general manager of the Macdonald Townhouse hotel in Manchester and before that, interim hotel manager at the Beaumont Estate in Windsor.
During 25-years in the hospitality industry, he has worked as director of food and beverage at the Savoy in London, and conference and banqueting operations manager at Grosvenor House on Park Lane and at the Athenaeum's sister hotel, the Grove, near Watford, Hertfordshire.
Acting general manger Sue Wolton said: "ʻWe look forward to Jeremy bringing his enthusiasm and passion to the Athenaeum. He has a wealth of five star hospitality experience and we are delighted to have him lead the team."
Privately owned by the Levy family, the Athenaeum claims to hold the largest selection of rare whiskies outside of Scotland in its Whisky Bar. Last year the hotel received the Top London Afternoon Tea award from the Tea Guild.
