Jupiter Hotels appoints cluster GM for new collection

Simon Hanna has been appointed cluster general manager for Jupiter Hotels' newly formed Country House Collection of Mercure hotels across the UK.

The new collection consists of five countryside retreats: the Mercure Bewdley The Heath hotel in Worcestershire, the Mercure Burton Upon Trent Newton Park hotel in East Staffordshire, the Mercure Bristol North The Grange hotel, the Mercure Newbury Elcot Park hotel in Berkshire, and the Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall hotel.

The group says the collection has been formed "to maximise the potential of the charming country manor, Victorian house and spa hotels".

Hanna has previously worked as a general manager with Hatton Hotels; at Peckforton Castle in Tarporley, Cheshire; and at the Tower Hotel Derry.

He said: "I will be looking to revitalise and promote a new wedding offer across the group as well as ensuring fresh and clear marketing with an emphasis on all-encompassing packages, offering great value in great surroundings. I also plan to soften all of our service points, adding a touch of country quality to our food and beverage operations whilst ensuring that my teams are clearly focused on delivering quality and charming service to all guests."

Shane Harris, chief executive of Jupiter Hotels, added: "Simon is a fantastic addition to the Jupiter Hotels team and will be the key driving force for our new Country House Collection initiative which is a priority for the business."
