Kabelitz swaps the Berkeley for the Dorchester Collection's Le Richemond in Geneva
Klaus Kabelitz, who is leaving his position as general manager at London's Berkeley hotel tomorrow, is to join the Dorchester Collection as general manager of Le Richemond in Geneva.
Reporting directly to François Delahaye, Dorchester Collection's chief operating officer, Kabelitz takes up his new post on 23 April and will be based in Switzerland at the 109-bedroom hotel. He has been general manager of the Berkeley since 2003, having been promoted from his previous position of house manager at sister hotel, Claridge's. Prior to this, Kabelitz worked for eight years with Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts in Berlin and London, having started his career with Hilton Worldwide in London, Geneva and New York.
German-born Kabelitz completed his hotel apprenticeship in Düsseldorf and the general manager programme through the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
"I am delighted to be joining Le Richemond and taking this prestigious hotel into a new era, particularly with the exciting schedule of renovations," he said. "I am passionate about delivering the ultimate in guest service and look forward to seeing Le Richemond in its rightful position at the centre of Geneva society."
Le Richemond joined the Dorchester Collection's portfolio on 1 August 2011, having previously been managed by Rocco Forte Hotels. Set on the banks of Lake Geneva, the iconic property is the Dorchester Collection's first third-party management agreement.
