Karl Lagerfeld to design Claridge's Christmas tree 2017

Creative director of the Chanel and Fendi fashion houses Karl Lagerfeld will design Claridge's Christmas tree this year.

Every year the hotel in London's Mayfair selects a different designer to come up with a look for its Christmas tree. This year's version will be unveiled in the hotel's lobby on 22 November.

Widely regarded as one of the fashion world's most influential creative forces, Lagerfeld also oversees his eponymous fashion label Karl Lagerfeld, and his creativity expands beyond fashion to include illustration, photography, interior design and publishing. He is recognised for his trademark white hair, black sunglasses, and high starched collars.

Lagerfeld said Christmas trees are "the strongest ‘souvenir'" of his childhood.
