Kitley House hotel in Devon sold out of administration

Kitley House hotel near Yealmpton in south Devon, which has been in administration since August, has been sold.

Administrators Begbies Traynor and property agent Christie and Co closed a year with newly-formed Yealmpton Hospitality for the 19-bedroom property.

The Grade One-listed building is over 500 years old, and also runs a weddings and events business.

The hotel to continued trading throughout the administration, ensuring that wedding bookings already made were honoured.

Ian Walker of Begbies Traynor commented: "I am delighted we have been able to preserve jobs, and that this lovely venue will continue to be available for lots of future brides for their special day."

The directors of Yealmpton Hospitality said; "Yealmpton Hospitality Ltd looks forward to welcoming both new and old acquaintances to the historic Kitley House Hotel. With over 40 years' hotel experience and an investment plan for the hotel and grounds starting in the new year, we are committed to establishing Kitley House as the premier destination for weddings and functions in South Devon."
