Le Gray, Beirut appoints Darren Andow as executive chef

Andow, originally from the UK, joins the hotel with more than 20 years' experience, having previously worked in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. He studied in England and then travelled to work in Greece and Cyprus. His most recent position was at ART Rotana in Bahrain, while previous stints included Yas Island Rotana and Centro Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Amwaj Rotana in Dubai and Langham Palace hotel in China.

The 87-bedroom Le Gray was founded by Gordon Campbell Gray, who was named Hotelier of the Year in 2002. Earlier this year he entered into a business agreement with Jordanian-based trading company, Audeh Group, which will finance a new Le Gray in Amman, Jordan; as well as oversee the refurbishment and management of the Phoenicia, Valletta, Malta, and Machrie, Isle of Islay, Scotland.
