Leading Hotels of the World reports most successful year to date

Hotel marketing consortium Leading Hotels of the World has announced its most successful year to date with more than 1.6 million room night sales.

The company's revamped Leaders Club, growth in membership to 437 hotels and new website initiatives were all factors causing the growth including a 14% rise in online bookings from 193,973 room nights in 2005 to 220,884 in 2006.

President and chief executive officer Paul McManus said: "We are encouraged by the continuing resurgence in luxury travel."

"Mindful that unforeseen circumstances can alter that pattern, The Leading Hotels of the World remains committed to ensuring that our member hotels are always best positioned to sustain the advantage in their markets, through innovative customer-directed initiatives."
