Legacy Hotels signs mangement contract with Southampton hotel

Legacy Hotels has signed its eighth management contract and taken over the running of Southampton's four-star Botleigh Grange hotel.

The hotel, which has a two AA-rosette awarded restaurant, was previously part of the Best Western consortium and has been owned by the Plumpton family since 1949.

Legacy will operate the hotel on a five-year contract worth £750,000 and is retaining all 79 staff.

Andy Townsend, chief executive of Legacy hotels, said: "We want to expand and promote the hotel's banqueting, conference and events business because the Hampshire Millennium Suite is one of the largest function suites in the region."
