Leisure company buys Inchrie Castle for £1.1m

Expanding leisure company MSL Hotels has bought the Inchrie Castle in Aberfoyle, Scotland.

The Scottish group, who also owns the Watermill Hotel in Paisley, purchased the castle from Stonefield Castle Group for an asking price of £1.1m.

Michael Lavizani, managing director of MSL, said: "With 52 en suite rooms and a fantastic location in the heart of the Trossachs, Inchrie Castle is a perfect addition to our other hotel, the Watermill."

Inchrie Castle, a 17th century building set in close to 12 acres of land, was previously called the Covenanters Inn.

The sale was handled by property agency Christie + Co.
