Leisure teams at Village Urban Resorts go through to Excellence Awards
Three leisure teams from Village Urban Resorts which have competed in the final of the company's first annual leisure competition will go forward to the company's Excellence Awards.
They choreographed a series of Group Fitness classes to showcase their personalities and pitched for an investment, Dragon Den style, of £1,000 for a new gym floor, swimming pool or studio activity.
The judges - Robert Cook, chief executive; Mike Williams, director of people development; Chris Southall, director of leisure and Tracy Solitt, National Fitness manager - quizzed the teams on the marketing, creativity and practicality of their product.
All the pitches so impressed the judges that each team with given the go-ahead to implement their ideas into their own clubs as a pilot project.
The winner of Village Urban Resort's first leisure award will be announced at the Excellence Awards in January, when accolades will also be present for the group's reception, chef, bar/pub, restaurant and spa teams.
