Lincoln Plaza to open in January with Cyrus Todiwala restaurant

Hilton has announced its second Curio Collection property, the Lincoln Plaza London, will open in January 2019 with a restaurant by chef Cyrus Todiwala.

The 129-bedroom hotel was initially going to be the first Curio in the UK with an opening slated for 2016, but was overtaken by the Trafalgar St James hotel which rebranded following refurbishment last year.

The property's range of food and drink outlets includes by pan-Indian restaurant Mr Todiwala's Kitchen by chef Cyrus Todiwala. Todiwala also operates Café Spice Namaste in London's Whitechapel and another Mr Todiwala's Kitchen at the Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5. He previously operated Assado restaurant at the Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo hotel, which closed last year.

The Lincoln Plaza's Food Store concept comprises three offerings: Restaurant, a social space for casual all-day dining overseen by executive chef Steve Tonkin; a Lobby bar offering a Negroni menu and local brews from Kernel or London Fields Brewery; and Grocery, serving locally sourced, organic and artisanal products to take away and a wine shop.

Jack Speak bar and terrace will serve cocktails and small producer wines, designed to be a "playful, contemporary twist on the 19th Century British Navy Officers' Wardroom".

Created by RPW Design, bedrooms will feature bespoke shelving units made of blackened steel and antique brass, marble rainfall showers and bespoke artwork. The hotel will also feature a 24-hour fitness centre, an 18 metre pool, sauna and steam room, and over 465 sq m of event space across seven meeting rooms.

The Lincoln Plaza London will also place great emphasis on corporate social responsibility. The hotel will have no plastic in its coffee cups, takeaway packaging or straws, and has partnered with Stone Street Soaphouse in Kent to create a bathroom range made from locally sourced, natural ingredients; Mozzo Coffee, which also supports communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and profit for purpose toilet paper company, Who Gives a Crap.

Launched in 2014, the Curio Collection by Hilton is a soft brand featuring "upper upscale hotels with character" and is one of Hilton's 15 brands.
