Local potato merchant buys Perthshire inn

Local potato merchant Robert Morris & Son has snapped up the Burrelton Park Inn in Burrelton, Perthshire.

The Georgian-fronted property sits on the main road in the village, which is near Blairgowrie and just a few miles north of Perth.

Along with six en-suite bedrooms, the inn has a 60-seat restaurant, a bar, a residents' lounge, and a conservatory.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the property off an asking price of £295,000 on behalf of Alan and Alison Merton, who are retiring from the trade after running the business for the past four years.
