London backpackers' hostel changes hands

Patrick O'Connor of pub and hostel operator P&J Pubs has bought his second hotel in Central London in the form of the Court hotel in Earls Court Road.

The ground floor of the premises is owned separately and trades as a Zizzi's restaurant.

The hotel offers 21 multi-occupancy letting bedrooms, a communal kitchen, and six bathrooms.

It joins the Cecil Court hotel in Paddington that O'Connor bought in late 2006 and O'Connor is keen to acquire more hotels in Central London.

The London office of Christie + Co sold the long leasehold off an asking price of £1.6m on behalf of Taher and Shabbir Tayeb of the Lords Group.
