London faces Olympic hotels shortage, claims study

London is short of hotels within easy reach of the planned 2012 Olympic Park in Stratford.

A study by business travel company Expotel found there are currently only four hotels within one mile of the major venues, offering a total of 284 bedrooms.

A further 13 hotels are scheduled, which will add 804 bedrooms.

London as a whole already has 100,000 hotel bedrooms, according to Expotel, with further 10,000 promised by 2012.

Between one and two million people are expected to come to the UK for the Games.
