London hostel operator buys hotel in Forest Gate

The operator of several London hostels has bought the St Andrews hotel in East London off a £1.5m guide price.

The property, which is registered as a ‘Houses in Multiple Occupation' building and derives its business from local authority referrals, is located in Forest Gate on the busy A118 Romford Road into London.

The two inter-connecting three-storey buildings provide 27 bedrooms, nine shower rooms with WCs, 11 separate WCs, seven kitchens and a communal breakfast room.

The Enfield office of Christie + Co sold the freehold for the vendor, who felt the property did not fit alongside his portfolio of hotels that trade under the Holiday Inn, Best Western and EasyHotels brands.
