London hotels achieve highest December revpar for 19 years

Alongside a revpar rate increase to £102.92, average daily rate (ADR) and occupancy grew by 6.4% to £134.95 and 3% to 76.3% respectively.

Demand for business increased by 4.4%, while the supply in the number of hotel rooms grew by 1.3%.

"This month saw the highest revpar levels of any December since 1994, and is contributing to an overall positive hotel performance in 2013", said Elizabeth Winkle, managing director of STR Global.

"Although occupancy achieved record levels for the last three years during this month, ADR was the driving force behind the strong revpar performance in December."
