London Marriott Hotel County Hall transformation unveiled
Marriott Hotels, the flagship brand of Marriott International, is celebrating the grand re-opening of the 206-bedroom London Marriott Hotel County Hall in Westminster today (3 November) following the completion of its multi-million pound transformation.
Set at the foot of Westminster Bridge, the hotel offers guests riverside views and, based on guest feedback, now features locally-inspired accents and smart technology in rooms.
Led by RPW Design, the hotel's reimagined interiors combine contemporary hotel design and luxurious functionality, all inspired by the heritage of the building. All suites have upgraded bathroom facilities, entrances with tiled mosaic flooring and bespoke wallpaper featuring an historic map of London.
Subtle references to London landmarks are featured throughout, for example orange chairs paying homage to the seating used in the former London County Council chamber, and bowler hat-printed curtains echoing London's business culture.
Matthew Carroll, vice-president of Marriott Hotels, said: "Marriott Hotels has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in travel to create experiences that inspire and push our guests' creativity. London Marriott County Hall is the perfect combination of historic charm and intuitive design."
Govert Deketh, general manager of the hotel, added: "Our transformation perfectly captures the essence of great British style whilst also delivering an elevated and modern hotel experience. That together with our building's incredible history and our exceptional riverside views now places us as one of the most sought after properties in London."
